Internet Helps ’n’ Hints

LInC Online Important Issues Home Page This page (part of a Web site maintained by the Fermilab Leadership Institute) offers Internet tips and links especially tailored for teachers. Topics include developing an "acceptable use" policy for student Internet use, managing the technological classroom, citing Internet resources on your own Web site, handling Web-related copyright issues, and observing the rules of online "Netiquette."

Web Search Strategies This page offers an excellent online tutorial on Web search strategies. The process is quite "user-friendly" and easy to follow: Instruction proceeds via a series of clearly marked links that start on the home page. You can follow the tutorial at your own pace; but however speedily or deliberately you choose to manage it, you will soon find yourself using search engines and subject directories to locate whatever you need on the World Wide Web. Some helpful practice exercises are included and, as an added bonus, the home page provides direct links to many of the Web’s best search engines.

AllAboutYourOwnWeb site.com™ This helpful site—designed for beginners but full of great tips for the experienced, too—will show you (or link you to) virtually everything you need to know to set up your own Web site.

United States Copyright Office This site comes to you from the U.S. Copyright Office and the Library of Congress. There’s a wealth of information here about copyright law, both national and international, as well as a full range of downloadable, printable application forms, fact sheets, and other federal publications.
